3/4 cup butter 1 cup sugar 4 cups flour 4 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup raisins, plumped 1 tbsp caraway seeds (optional) 1 egg 1 cup milk Soften butter and cream in sugar. Add flour, baking powder, salt, raisins, and caraway seeds. Mix well. Beat together egg and milk and add to other ingredients. Form dough into two (or fewer) round cakes and place on papered baking sheet. Bake 30-40 minutes at 375° F. |
